One Good Woman

from Keep The Faith by Bryn Haworth

/

lyrics

I remember growing up back in ‘56
Mooching around trying to get my kicks;
I was a troubled boy in a town with nothing to do
Looking for something to take away the small town blues.
I would go to bed early and turn out the light
Listen to the music late into the night
Underneath the sheets with a torch and a radio
And if you heard somebody coming
You’d turn the music way down low

You know that one of the things that I like best
Was you never knew what was coming next.
I used to get so excited at the sounds flying through the air
And if I closed my eyes it felt like I was really there
Keep the faith, x2 Keep the faith and listen to the radio

I would go to the store and order me one
I had to wait 3 weeks for my record to come
But something worth having is well worth waiting for
Then I’d grab my big sister and dance all over the floor.
Keep the faith ………..

Well I like TV but it kills the imagination
You might disagree but you know it’s a personal thing
It comes pre-packed processed no good for my digestion
And if you’re looking for some peace of mind
It’s getting much harder to find
They say seeing is believing but eyes can be deceiving
Or else I must be going blind.
Keep the faith ………..

Well I like TV but it kills good conversation
Sitting down on a sofa staring at nothing much
I’d rather pick up a book and let the words fly off the pages
But if you really want to make me smile
You’re going to have to turn that dial
They say seeing is believing but faith comes by hearing
And hope is just running wild. Keep the faith…

Last Saturday night about half past ten
I felt that same old feeling come back again
Driving in my car with the radio turned up loud
It was something new with that old familiar sound.
Then my mind drifted off to this corner of the world
Where I got a glimpse of this boy and girl
With an old guitar and a wind up radio
He was singing and dancing and she was yelling ‘go,go,go’
